WH Smith sells disgusting anti-Catholic greetings card showing a nun in full habit viewing internet porn

A reader of Protect the Pope has been in contact to inform us about WH Smith, the stationary and book shop, selling a deeply offensive anti-Catholic greetings card at its branch in Heathrow Airport Terminal 1.  The reader of Protect the Pope writes, the greeting card shows ‘an elderly nun in her 70′s or 80′s in full habit including veil and using a computer with her hand on the mouse. Her tongue is slightly out at the side of her mouth. The caption at the end of the card reads www. Naked-Priest.com   The inference being that this elderly nun is viewing a pornographic site showing naked priests.’

Our reader told us of the deep offense that this caused her, ‘Given the vows of celebacy that Roman Catholic Religious take this is a complete mockery of those sacred vows and constitutes religious discrimination.’

She immediately complained to the WH Smith Team Leader at Terminal 1:

‘I brought my complaint to the attention of the WH Smith Team Leader,  Ashik Davida who fully understood how I would find such a card offensive. He advised I contact WH Smiths Customer Relations Dept to lodge my complaint. I phoned head office today and got the name of Juliette Cavilla, who is the head of Customer Relations based in Head Office, Greenbridge Road, Swindon, Wiltshire SN3 3LD.’

The reader of Protect the Pope took down the details of the anti-Catholic greetings card being sold by WH Smith, Manufacturer: Forget Me Not.  Barcode: 5034934267722.

Protect the Pope comment:  WH Smith is a major UK retailer with a store in most towns and it has the reputation for being family-friendly, which makes their decision to sell such a disgusting anti-Catholic greetings card incomprehensible.

By selling a greetings card showing a nun in full habit viewing internet porn WH Smith has decided to publicly ridicule and mock Catholic nuns, and in particular their sacred vow of chastity. The celibate life embraced by women religious is a sign of their total and undivided consecration to Our Lord Jesus Christ and of their greater freedom to serve God and people.

That WH Smith would mock this commitment in such a disgusting manner is not only an attack on Catholic nuns but an attack on the deepest beliefs of Catholics.  The stocking of this card appears to be evidence that WH Smith is institutionally anti-Catholic.
