Pope Benedict XVI
A Tribute to Deacon Nick Donnelly and the Protect the Pope blog
We
owe a great debt of gratitude to Deacon Nick Donnelly and his Protect
the Pope blog. For in the lead up to Pope Benedict’s visit to Britain in
2010 the media led by the BBC engaged in a feeding frenzy of hatred
directed towards the Pope and the Catholic Church. A lot of this hatred
was generated by the pro-homosexual lobby like Stonewall, Outrage and
Peter Tatchell etc. Who seemed to be everywhere in the media, Tatchell
described Pope Benedict as “the ideological inheritor of Nazi
homophobia” - really nasty language designed to do as much damage as
possible. This was the culmination of a decade media led anti-Catholic
bigotry the likes that had not been seen since the restoration of the
Catholic hierarchy in Britain in 1850. Deacon Nick was able to organise
support for the Pope's visit and has continued to support sound
Catholics everywhere.
The
Protect the Pope blog has continued to grow to be one of the biggest
and most influential blogs in orthodox Catholic world. We are sad to
learn that this great blog has been in the words of Mrs Donnelly
effectively closed down by the Bishop. We do not know why but many feel
we are now deprived of major voice for orthodoxy in the Church. Someone
who will speak out against the dissidents someone who will expose the
smoke of Satan that has invaded the Church, someone who will report on
'A Call to action’s' nonsense, someone who will tell the truth about the non stopping of the Soho ‘Gay’ Masses and all the excesses there. See http://protectthepope.com/ And like CUT report on anti-Catholic bigotry in the media.
Please pray for Deacon Nick Donnelly, his good lady and for bishop Michael Campbell.
