WhatsApp is causing adultery, says cardinal

WhatsApp has been criticised by Cardinal Cipriani (CNS)
Cardinal Cipriani Thorne claimed the popular messaging app is having a negative impact on the lives of couples and families.
The Archbishop of Lima has said that the popularity of WhatsApp is causing families to breakdown and people to cheat on their partners.
Speaking on his radio show, Cardinal Juan Luis Cipriani Thorne claimed the popular messaging app for mobile phones is having a negative impact on the lives of couples and families.
“Concerning mobile phones, how many people become unfaithful and how many families are broken by WhatsApp?” he said.
“I’m not backward, but someone needs to tell things like they are. How many people are unfaithful on WhatsApp? Dubious encounters with another woman, another husband, all on a more or less anonymous network.”
WhatsApp is reportedly the world’s most popular messaging app with more than 600 million users worldwide.
