On June 12th, Bishop Thomas Paprocki of Springfield, Illinois, published a decree that people in gay pseudo-marriages are to be denied all sacraments and preparations to sacraments. Homosexualists are not allowed to serve in a public liturgical ministry. Funeral rites can only be granted if they have shown “some signs of repentance” before death.
No priest nor employee of the diocese is allowed to assist or participate in blessings of gay couples. No Catholic facilities nor Catholic books or vestments are to be used for such events.
