Card Müller: Buenos Aires Bishops (and Francis) are Wrong

The [heterodox] interpretation of Amoris Laetitia by the Buenos Aires bishops which received the support of Pope Francis, is wrong according to Cardinal Gerhard Müller.

Speaking to the German paper Tagespost (October 13) Müller said that this interpretation was “text immanent” and limited to a “positivistic” understanding of a single Pontifical document leaving aside the fullness of the teaching tradition of the Bible and the Church.

Cardinal Gerhard Müller answered to Pope Francis’ claim that Amoris Laetitia is “the morality of the great Thomas”.

(...)he stated that these words can only mean to use the “clarity of Saint Thomas” to clarify Amoris Laetitia and not vice versa. He added, “We want to clarify what is unclear, not to make unclear what is clear.”
