Vice-Pope Maradiaga, C9 Errázuriz & CDF Ferrer

Pope Francis's inner-most top advisors are reported to be protectors of sex abusing predator priests.

Vatican expert John Allen reports that Cardinal Oscar Rodríguez Maradiaga "symbolizes" the "Pope Francis era"... he comes off as virtually a “vice-pope,” the coordinator of Francis’ all-important council of cardinal advisors [C9] and his most visible and outspoken interpreter."

Italian journalist Emiliano Fittipaldi is one of the two Italian journalists charged in the Vatileaks 2 trial. The Vatican put him in court because of his last book on Vatican financial corruption. In his new book "Lust: Sins, Scandals, and Betrayal of a Church Made of Men," he reports that Pope Francis and his top advisors are covering-up or undermining investigations on sex abuse on a global scale.

In an interview with ComunidadeCulturaeArte.com, Fittipaldi said Maradiaga protected a pedophile priest, claimed that "Cardinal Law was a saint" and said that he "would never denounce" pedophile priests to the FBI:

"Maradiaga [Honduran Cardinal], from whom we have not yet spoken, but who is the coordinator of C9 and is a great friend of Francisco. The pope gave no importance to the fact that Maradiaga had protected a priest from the Costa Rica pedophile, fugitive from Interpol, who was found in bed with an eight-year-old child by his mother. This pedophile priest went around North America to Central America until he arrived in Honduras. In Tegucigalpa, which is the diocese of Maradiaga, he found hospitality for six months."

"Maradiaga is someone who in Rome, in 2004, when there was the ' Spotlight ' scandal, due to the investigation of our colleagues from the Boston Globe, said that the Boston Globe and CNN were beasts, Friends of the Jews of Israel, that the denunciations were not true and that Cardinal Law was a saint. He also said that he would never denounce a priest to the FBI, even if he was a pedophile, because priests are not cops. A man who says that kind of thing, ten years later, thanks to Francisco, has become one of the most powerful men in the Vatican." (ComunidadeCulturaeArte.com, "Emiliano Fittipaldi: ‘Para Francisco, a pedofilia é uma questão secundária,'" October 20, 2017, Google translation)

In the interview Fittipaldi said "[Pope Benedict XVI] was very traditionalist and conservative, and so the journalists did not like him, but he did important things. The things he did in relation to pedophilia, which was not much, but double the time for prescribing crimes in the Vatican, sent away almost 600 priests in a few yearsThe incredible thing is that Francis did a lot less."

Journalist Hilary White confirmed the Fittipaldi understatement, on January 25, reporting that Francis "has all but completely dismantled" the "effective" reforms instituted against clerical sex abuse by Benedict:

"Pope Benedict installed effective procedural reforms on clerical sex abuse; Francis... has all but completely dismantled or reversed those changes... Benedict 'had defrocked or suspended more than 800 priests for past sexual abuse between 2009 and 2012'... His reforms specifically included bishops who refused to act against priest-abusers... 'This Pope has removed two to three bishops per month'... These reforms - and - removals - have ceased entirely under Francis."

Another member of Francis's "all-important council of cardinal advisors" or C9 Cardinal Francisco Errázuriz Ossa protected Chilean predator Fr. Fernando Karadima. In fact, Karadima himself reported that Errázuriz had protectedhim. Francis appointed Errázuriz to the "all-important council of cardinal advisors" with the knowledge of "the cardinal's protection of Karadima" according to BishopAccountability.org:

"Cardinal Errázuriz refused for years to act on allegations of sexual abuse by a powerful priest, Rev. Fernando Karadima. In 2003, Errázuriz received a letter from one Karadima victim but did nothing. When told in 2004 of another victim, the cardinal opened an investigation but then suspended it for three years. Karadima himself claimed the archbishop had protectedhim, by paying 500 million pesos to halt publication of a book alleging that Karadima was a pedophile."
"The cardinal finally sent Karadima's case to the CDF in June 2010, shortly after four victims went public with their story, having received no response to formal complaints they had filed with the church a year earlier. In January 2011, the Vatican declared Karadima guilty of sexual abuse of minors and assigned him to a life of prayer and penance. In November 2011, a Chilean judge dismissed the criminal case against Karadima because of SOL but detailed his abuses in a searing 84-page ruling, calling the allegations "truthful and reliable." In 2013, Pope Francis appointed Errázuriz to the Council of Cardinals, despite knowing of the cardinal's protection of Karadima. Errázuriz came under fire in September 2015 when emails between him and his successor, Cardinal Ricardo Ezzati, were leaked to the press. The emails, written in 2013 and 2014, show the two prelates discussing trying to prevent well-known Karadima survivor, Juan Carlos Cruz, from being named to the Pontifical Commission for the Prevention of Abuse."
Finally, sex abuse expert Betty Clermont reported that Francis's newly appointed powerful Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith perfect Luis Ladaria Ferrer is accused of protecting sex abusing priests:
"Pope Francis appointed Ladaria as prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the Vatican department that addresses cases of clergy sexual abuse, on June 30. Ladaria had previously served as secretary, the second highest official."

"Three days later, Ladaria was accused of covering up for Fr. Gianni Trotta. “The congregation received complaints against Trotta in 2009 and three years later found him guilty of sexually abusing minors, demoting him from the priesthood but failing to inform the Italian authorities …. Ladaria wrote to the bishop of Foggia in 2012 instructing him not to divulgethe reasons why Trotta had been stripped of his priesthood “so as to avoid scandal.”

'Trotta continued to dress as a priest and became the coach of a youth soccer team."

Trotta, already convicted of sexual violence against an 11-year-old and sentenced to eight years in prison by a civil court, is now standing trial for nine other alleged cases of sex abuse against boys that occurred in 2014. “Trotta allegedly raped five, abused others in his home individually or in groups, photographing them during sexual acts.”

“If Ladaria had informed the police, these children would have been safe,” journalist and Vatican expert Emiliano Fittipaldi noted."

Ladaria Ferrer will, also, go to trail on April 4 in France for "complicity in the alleged cover-up" of paedophile priest Fr. Bernard Preynat according to the Business Standard.

Pray an Our Father now for a restoration of the Church to the moral authority it had under Pope Benedict XVI.
