DIRECTIVES OF THE GRAND MASTER OF MASSONERY TO THE CATTOLIC MASSON BISHOPS, TO DESTROY THE CATHOLIC CHURCH (1962 - Revised in October 1993 as a progressive plan for the final stage)
"All brother Masons are to report on the progress of these decisive arrangements. All Masons employed in the Church, cardinals, bishops and priests, must welcome them and carry them out."
[The letter was made public by a French priest who abjured his membership in Freemasonry, a Masonic plan he followed when he was a member of the sect. The letter was also republished in Italy by "Istruzione Cattolica" on Nov. 1, 2015; it was distributed during the Christmas holidays at the Shrine of the Sacred Face in Manoppello].
1 Remove once and for all St. Michael, protector of the Catholic Church from all prayers inside and outside the Holy Mass. Remove his statues, claiming that they distract from the Worship of Christ.
**2 **Remove the Penitential Exercises of Lent such as abstinence from meat on Fridays or even fasting; prevent all acts of self-denial. In their place should be favored acts of joy, happiness and love of neighbor. Say, "Christ has already merited Heaven for us," and "all human effort is useless." Tell everyone that they must take concern for their health seriously. Encourage the consumption of meat, especially pork.
**3 **Instruct Protestant pastors to re-examine the Holy Mass and desecrate it.
Sow doubts about the Real Presence in the Eucharist and confirm that the Eucharist-with greater closeness to the faith of Protestants-is only bread and wine and intended as a pure symbol. Disseminate Protestants in seminaries and schools.
Encourage ecumenism as a path to unity. Charge everyone who believes in the Real Presence as subversive and disobedient to the Church.
**4 **Ban the Latin Liturgy of the Mass, Adoration and Chants, since they communicate a feeling of mystery and deference. Present them as soothsayers' incantations. Men will stop regarding Priests as men of superior intelligence, to be respected as bearers of the Divine Mysteries.
**5 **Encourage women not to cover their heads with veils in church. Hair is sexy. Pretend women as readers and priestesses. Present it as a democratic idea. Found a women's liberation movement. Those who enter the church must wear neglected robes to feel there as at home. This will weaken the importance of the Holy Mass.
6 Turn the faithful away from taking Communion on their knees. Tell the nuns that they must divert the children before and after Communion from holding their hands together. Tell them that God loves them as they are and wants them to be completely comfortable. Eliminate kneeling and all genuflection in church. Remove the kneelers. Tell people that during Mass they must attest their faith in a standing position.
7 Remove sacred organ music. Introduce guitars, Jewish harps, drums, stomping and sacred laughter in churches. This will distract people from personal prayer and conversations with Jesus.
Deny Jesus the time to call children to religious life. Perform around the Altar liturgical dances in exciting robes, theaters and concerts.
8 Take away the sacred character of songs to the Mother of God and St. Joseph. Indicate their veneration as idolatry. Make fools of those who persist. Introduce Protestant hymns. This will give the impression that the Catholic Church finally admits that Protestantism is the true religion or at least that it is equal to the Catholic Church.
9 Eliminate all hymns even those to Jesus since they make people think of the happiness and serenity that comes from a life of mortification and penance for God from childhood.
Introduce new hymns only to convince people that the previous rites were somehow false. Make sure that in every Mass there is at least one hymn in which Jesus is not mentioned and instead speaks only of love for people. Youth will be thrilled to hear about love for others. Preach love, tolerance and unity.
Do not mention Jesus, forbid any proclamation of the Eucharist.
10 Remove all relics of the Saints from the Altars and later the Altars themselves. Replace them with pagan tables without Consecration that can be used to offer human sacrifices during Satanic Masses.
Eliminate the Ecclesiastical law that wants the celebration of Holy Mass only on Altars containing Relics.
**11 **Interrupt the practice of celebrating Holy Mass in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament in the Tabernacle. Do not allow any Tabernacle on Altars that are used for the celebration of Holy Mass.
Do not allow any Tabernacles on the Altars that are used for the celebration of Holy Mass. The table must have the appearance of a kitchen table. It must be transportable to express that it is not sacred at all but must serve a dual purpose as, for example, as a conference table or to play cards on. Later place at least one chair at such a table. The Priest should take a seat there to indicate that after Communion he rests as after a meal. The Priest should never kneel during Mass or genuflect. At meals, in fact, one never kneels. The Priest's chair should be placed in place of the Tabernacle. Encourage people to worship and even adore the Priest instead of the Eucharist, to obey him instead of the Eucharist. Tell people that the Priest is Christ, their leader. Place the Tabernacle in a different room, out of sight.
12 Make the Saints disappear from the Ecclesiastical calendar, always some at certain times. Forbid Priests from preaching about Saints except those mentioned in the Gospel. Tell the people that any Protestants, perhaps present in the church, might be scandalized by them. Avoid anything that disturbs Protestants.
13 When reading the Gospel omit the word "holy," for example, instead of "Gospel according to St. John," simply say, "Gospel according to John." This will make people think they no longer have to worship them. Constantly write new Bibles until they are identical to Protestant ones. Omit the adjective "Holy" in the expression "Holy Spirit." This will pave the way. Highlight the feminine nature of God as of a mother full of tenderness. Eliminate the use of the term "Father."
14 Make all personal books of piety disappear and destroy them. Consequently, the Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, of the Mother of God, of St. Joseph will also come to an end, as will the preparation for Holy Communion. Superfluous will also become the thanksgiving after Communion.
15 Also do away with all statues and images of Angels. Why should the statues of our enemies be in the way? Call them myths or bedtime stories. Do not allow the discourse on Angels since it would offend our Protestant friends.
16 Abrogate minor exorcism to expel demons; engage in it, announce that devils do not exist. Explain that it is the Bible's method of designating evil and that without an evil one there can be no interesting stories.
As a result, people will not believe in the existence of hell or fear that they will ever fall into it. Repeat that hell is nothing but distance from God and what is ever terrible about that if it is basically the same life as here on earth.
17 Teach that Jesus was only man who had brothers and sisters and hated the holders of power. Explain that he loved the company of prostitutes, especially Mary Magdalene; that he did not know what to do with churches and synagogues.
Say that he had counseled against obeying the leaders of the clergy; explain that he was a great teacher who, however, deviated from the right path when he denied obedience to the church leaders. Discourage talking about the Cross as a victory, instead present it as a failure.
18 Remember that you can induce nuns toward betrayal of their vocation if you appeal to their vanity, charm and beauty. Make them change their Ecclesiastical Dress and this will naturally lead them to throw away their Rosaries are dissensions. This will dry up their vocations. Tell the nuns that they will not be accepted unless they give up their habit. Promote the discrediting of the Ecclesiastical Habit even among the people.
19 Burn all Catechisms. Tell religious teachers to teach to love God's creatures instead of God Himself. Loving openly is a testimony of maturity. Make the term "sex" an everyday word in your religion classes. Make sex a new religion. Introduce images of sex in religion classes to teach children about reality. Make sure the images are clear. Encourage schools to become progressive thinkers in sex education. Introduce sex education through Bishop's authority so parents won't object.
**20 **Offset Catholic schools by preventing vocations of nuns. Reveal to nuns that they are underpaid social workers and that the Church is in the process of eliminating them. Insist that the Catholic lay teacher receive the identical salary as those in government schools. Employ non-Catholic teachers. Priests must receive the identical salary as the corresponding secular employees.
All Priests must lay down their Clerical Robes and Crosses so they can be accepted by all. Make fools of those who do not comply.
21 Annihilate the Pope by destroying his Universities. Detach the Universities from the Pope, saying that in this way the government could subsidize them.
Replace the names of Religious Institutes with secular names, to promote ecumenism. For example, instead of "Immaculate Conception School," say "New High School." Establish ecumenism departments in all dioceses and worry about their control by Protestants. Ban Prayers for the Pope and to Mary because they discourage ecumenism. Announce that the local bishops are the competent authorities. Claim that the Pope is only a representative figure. Explain to people that Papal Teaching is only for conversation but is otherwise unimportant.
22 Fight Papal Authority by placing an age limit on its exercise. Reduce it little by little, explain that you want to preserve it from overwork.
23 Be bold. Weaken the Pope by introducing Episcopal synods. The Pope will then become only a representative figure as in England where the Upper and Lower Houses rule and from them the queen receives orders. You later weaken the authority of the Bishop, giving rise to a competing institution at the level of Presbyters. Say that the Priests receive in such a way the attention they deserve.
Finally weaken the Priest's authority by the establishment of lay groups to dominate the Priests. In this way such hatred will originate that even Cardinals will leave the Church and the Church then will be democratic... the New Church...
24 Reduce vocations to the Priesthood, causing the laity to lose their reverential awe for it. The public scandal of one Priest will annihilate thousands of vocations. Praise Priests who for love of a woman were able to leave everything behind, call them heroic. Honor Priests reduced to the lay state as genuine martyrs, oppressed to such an extent that they cannot bear it any longer. Condemn also as a scandal that our brother Masons in the Priesthood should be made known and their names published. Be tolerant of Clergy homosexuality. Tell people that Priests suffer from loneliness.
25 Start closing churches because of the shortage of Clergy. Define such practice as good and cheap. Explain that God hears prayers everywhere. In such a way churches become extravagant wastes of money. First close churches where traditional piety is practiced.
26 Use committees of laity and Priests weak in the faith who will condemn and reprove without difficulty every apparition of Mary and every apparent miracle, especially of the Archangel St. Michael. Make sure that none of this, to any extent will receive approval according to Vatican II. Call it disobedience to authority if anyone obeys the Revelations or even if anyone reflects on them. Name the Seers as disobedient to Ecclesiastical Authority. Make their good name fall into disrepute, then no one will think of holding their Message in any regard.
27 Elect an Antipope. Claim that he will bring Protestants back into the Church and perhaps even the Jews. An Antipope may be elected if the bishops are given the right to vote. Then so many Antipopes will be elected so that an Antipope will be installed as a compromise. Affirm that the real Pope is dead.
**28 **Take away Confession before Holy Communion for second and third grade schoolchildren so that they will not care about it when they attend the fourth or fifth grade and then the upper grades. Confession will then disappear. Introduce (quietly) communal Confession with group absolution. Explain to people that this happens because of the shortage of Clergy.
29 Have women and lay people distribute Communion. Say that this is the time for the laity. Start by laying Communion in the hand, like Protestants, instead of on the tongue.
Explain that Christ did it in the same way. Collect some hosts for "black masses" in our temples. Indi distribute instead of personal Communion a cup of unconsecrated hosts that one can take home with him. Explain that in this way one can take the divine gifts in one's daily life. Place vending machines for communion wafers and name them Tabernacles. Say that signs of peace are to be exchanged. Encourage people to move to church to break up devotion and prayer. Do not make Signs of the Cross; instead a sign of peace. Explain that Christ also moved to greet the Disciples Do not allow any concentration at such times. Priests must turn their backs to the Eucharist and honor the people.
30 After the Antipope has been elected, dissolve synods of bishops such as Priests' associations and parish councils. Prohibit all religious from questioning, without permission, these new arrangements. Explain that God loves humility and hates those who aspire to glory. Charge with disobedience to Ecclesiastical Authority all those who pose questions. Discourage obedience to God. Tell people that they must obey these Ecclesiastical superiors.
31 Give the Pope (Antipope) the greatest power to choose his own successors. Order under penalty of excommunication all those who love God to wear the sign of the beast. However, do not name it the "sign of the beast." The Sign of the Cross is not to be made or used on or through people (no more blessing). Making the Sign of the Cross will be designated as idolatry and disobedience.
32 Declare the previous Dogmas false, except that of Papal Infallibility. Proclaim Jesus Christ a failed revolutionary. Announce that the true Christ will soon come. Only the elected Antipope alone is to be obeyed. Tell the people that they must bow when his name is pronounced.
**33 **Order all the Pope's subjects to fight in holy crusades to extend the one world religion. Satan knows where all the lost gold is. Conquer the world mercilessly! All this will bring to humanity what it has always longed for: the "golden age of peace."
