Over the past few weeks, it has become apparent that Pope Francis is having difficulty opening his left eye.
His
public appearances this week confirm that he must have some kind of
problem with it - as can be seen in recent photographs - and that it
does not allow him to open it fully.
The phenomenon was also visible during the Angelus last Sunday.
In terms of Church politics, Francis has been blind in his left eye for most of his pontificate.
