In the absence of any information and participation, the "synodal
Church" is secretly building a mega structure with a green roof in the
shape of St Peter's Square in Castel Gandolfo, the former summer
residence of the popes, writes IlCaffe.tv.
The structure, which
is nearing completion, is located in the Villa dei Papi, a Vatican state
territory between Albano and Castel Gandolfo.
Since his inauguration, Francis has stated that he will no longer visit Castel Gandolfo, as was the custom of his predecessors.
This
has caused great difficulties for the small town, which relies mainly
on "papal tourism", but also for the Villa dei Papi itself.
With
its buildings, 30 hectares of Unesco World Heritage gardens and 25
hectares dedicated to breeding and organic farming, it is a large
complex, costly and economically penalised by the lack of papal visits.
The
huge structure is a giant 3,700 square metre greenhouse being built by
Rabensteiner S.r.l., a company based in Brixen, South Tyrol, Austria.
The company calls it "a unique project in the Pope's summer residence".
"What
makes this project really special is the combination of innovative
design and respectful integration into the surrounding landscape. With
its circular floor plan, reminiscent of the shape of St Peter's Square,
this greenhouse will not only be functional but also architecturally
striking. It represents sustainability and progress, and blends in
perfectly with the natural environment".
It seems that the Vatican is planning to replace the house of God with a ... greenhouse.
