The cascade of pronouncements by Tucho's Dicastery for the Destruction of the Faith on 'supernatural phenomena' continues.
Tucho Fernàndez sent a letter on July 24 to Oscar Cantoni, Bishop of Como, about spiritual experiences at the Sanctuary of Maccio in Villa Guardia, northern Italy. The letter was approved by Francis. Cantoni is a friend of Francis who made him a Cardinal.
The alleged visionary is Gioacchino Genovese, a music teacher and choir director who is married and has two daughters. He claims "intellectual visions" and a "living presence of the mystery of the Holy Trinity" since the year 2000.
As usual, Tucho first emphasizes what he likes in the alleged [banal] messages. Here are some examples:
“‘In Me, the Incarnate Word, oh my Bride, you see and touch the Love, Charity and Mercy of Me, the one God, and you contemplate, without understanding, except in Me the Word, oh my Bride, the Gift of We Trinity’ (864).”
Or: “My Incarnation is a gift of Trinitarian Mercy!
My Word is a gift of Trinitarian Mercy!
My Passion is the Gift of Trinitarian Mercy!
My Resurrection is the Gift of Trinitarian Mercy!
I am Mercy!” (49).
Among the difficult aspects to be clarified, Tucho mentions the use of the Trinitarian plural "We" even to refer to the Incarnation, as, for example, "We Mercy […] have become incarnate" (541).
Or: "Father, Son and Spirit […] we incarnate in the woman" (622).
"Such expressions are not acceptable," says Tucho, demanding to avoid their diffusion.
Tucho adds that, "various texts referring to the devil must be interpreted as an expression of a God who never forgets his beloved creature, even when that created being has freely and definitively become distanced from God".
Regarding future "messages" by Geneovese, Tucho underlines that they must be evaluated by his dicastery before being published.
