Amazonian Rite to Be Introduced This Year

The "Amazonian Rite" will begin an "experimental phase" at the end of 2024 for three years, until 2028.

This was announced by Rev. Agenor Brighenti, Brazilian priest and coordinator of the theological team of the Latin American Episcopal Council CELAM talking to VidaNuevaDigital.com (August 31). Brighenti is in favour of [invalidly] ordaining women and abolishing priestly celibacy.

Since 2020, 13 commissions have been created to invent an Amazonian Rite.

During the next three years, first the dioceses, then the bishops' conferences, and then the Vatican will sign off on this made-up liturgy.

Rev. Brighenti hopes that "it will be accepted and approved by the Church so that the ecclesial communities can express their [sic!] faith according to their culture and customs in this immense territory of the Amazon."

The Amazon Rite is not yet known but it will be similar to the Mayan Rite in Mexico or the Zairean Rite in Africa.

Meanwhile, Francis is trying to "forbid" the Mass in the Roman Rite, which expresses and transmits the Faith of the Apostles, by claiming in Traditionis Custodes that the Novus Ordo is "the unique (sic) expression of the lex orandi of the Roman Rite."
