Mgr Marc Aillet, Bishop of Bayonne, France, has announced the death of
Abbé Alexandre Blaudeau, 31, an assistant priest in Nay, near Lourdes.
According to SudOuest.fr (17 September), the priest was jogging when he suffered a cardiac arrest on Monday 16 September.
Born
in Poitiers on 26 May 1993, Abbé Blaudeau was ordained a priest on 26
June 2021 in the cathedral of Sainte-Marie in Bayonne by Mgr Marc
Aillet.
He was assistant priest in the parishes of
Piétat-L'Arribère (Nay), Notre-Dame du Piémont (Asson),
Saint-Michel-Garicoïts du Lagoin (Coarraze, until May 2023) and
Sainte-Marie de Batbielle (Bordes).
His funeral will take place on Friday 20 September at 10.30 a.m. in the church of Saint-Vincent in Nay.
As
one can see from the picture of the article, the clergy of Nay is
serious and very Catholic. Abbé Blaudeau is the first on the left.
