God is never too late to come to our aid

God is never late in coming to the aid of his children. Even in the most extreme cases, God always arrives, even if in a mysterious and hidden way, at the right moment. Full trust in God, with whatever human means are necessary, gives the Christian a singular strength and a special serenity in the face of adverse events and circumstances.

"If you do not leave him, he will not leave you. "8 And we - we tell him in our personal prayer - do not want to leave him. Together with Him all battles are won, even if, with a short glance, it seems that they are lost. "When we imagine that everything is sinking before our eyes, nothing sinks, for you are my strength, O Lord (Ps 42:2). If God dwells in our soul, everything else, however important it may seem, is accidental, transitory; on the other hand, we, in God, are the permanent "9. 9 This is the medicine to sweep away, from our lives, fears, tensions and anxieties. St. Paul encouraged the early Christians in Rome, faced with a humanly difficult panorama, with these words: If God is with us, who will be against us? Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, danger, the sword? But in all these things we overcome through him who loved us

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature can separate us from the love of God10. The Christian is, by vocation, a man given to God, and to Him he has also given everything that can happen to him.

Once again, the Lord instructed the people about the love and care that God has for every creature. Those who listen to him are simple and honest people who praise the majesty of God, but who lack that peculiar childlike trust in their Father God.

It is probable that at the very moment he was addressing his audience, a flock of birds was passing by, seeking shelter in a nearby place. Who cares for them? Did not housewives use to buy them for a few cents to improve their ordinary meals? They were within reach of the most modest pocket. They were of little value.

The Lord would point them out with a gesture, at the same time saying to his audience: "Not one of these sparrows is forgotten by God". God knows them all. Not one of them falls to the ground without your Father's consent. And the Lord again gives us confidence: Do not be afraid, you are worth more than many birds11. We are not creatures of a day, but his children forever. How can he not take care of our things? Fear not. Our God has given us life, and he has given it to us forever

And the Lord says to us: To you, my friends, I say: Do not be afraid12. Every man, as long as he is a friend of God," are the words of St. Thomas, "must have confidence in being delivered by Him from every distress..... And since God helps his servants in a special way, those who serve God must live in peace "13. The only condition: to be friends of God, to live as his children.
