When we live as good children of God, we consider events - even the small events of an ordinary day - in the light of faith, and we become accustomed to think and act according to Christ's will.9 First of all, we will try to see brothers and sisters in those with whom we have relationships, for we are all children of the same Father. In the first place, we will try to see brothers and sisters in the people with whom we relate, for we are all children of the same Father. Appreciation and respect for others will generate in us the same desire that exists in the Heart of Christ: that of his sanctification. Fraternal love will move us above all to bring these people ever closer to Christ and to make them ever more fully children of our Father God. Ours will be the same apostolic zeal of Christ for all: zeal for the glory of the Father and for the salvation of humanity10. The manifestations of this fraternity rooted in divine filiation can be innumerable in the course of our day: prayer, small material help, understanding in the face of defects.
Divine filiation is not just another aspect of our life: it defines our own supernatural being and shows us the way to situate ourselves before every event; it is not a particular virtue, which has its own acts, but the permanent condition of our being, and it permeates all the virtues11. We are, first and foremost, children of God, in every circumstance and in every situation, and this firm conviction fills our life and our actions: "we cannot be children of God only at times, even if there are some special moments in our lives".10

We are, first and foremost, children of God, in every circumstance and in every situation, and this firm conviction fills our life and our actions: "we cannot be children of God only at times, even if there are some moments especially dedicated to consider it, to penetrate us with that sense of our divine filiation, which is the marrow of piety "12.
If we frequently consider this truth - I am a child of God - if we deepen our understanding of its meaning, our day will be filled with peace, serenity and joy. We will lean resolutely on our Father God, on whom everything depends, in difficulties and contradictions, if at times everything becomes uphill13.
We will return more easily to our Father's house, like the prodigal son, when we have wandered away with our faults and sins; we will not lose sight of the fact that our Father is always waiting for us to embrace us, to give us back the dignity of sons if we have lost it, and to fill us with good things in a splendid feast, even if we have behaved badly, once and a thousand times. Prayer - as in this time that we dedicate exclusively to God - will truly be the conversation of a son with his father, who knows that he understands him well, that he listens to him, that he is attentive as no one has ever been. A confident conversation with God, who often moves us to prayer of petition because we are children in need; a conversation with God whose theme is our life: "everything that beats in our head and in our heart: joys, sorrows, hopes, disappointments, successes, failures, and even the smallest details of our day. Because we will have proven that everything that concerns us is of interest to our Heavenly Father".
