War in Rome Diocese: Francis Transferred All Auxiliary Bishops

Francis has started a personnel war in his own house, the diocese of Rome. On 28 January, he transferred another auxiliary bishop from Rome to the Italian province, 270 kilometers away: Auxiliary Bishop Paolo Ricciardi, 56, became the new Bishop of Jesi on the Adriatic.

The diocese of Jesi has fewer than 70,000 Catholics, 40 parishes and around 50 priests.

In February 2024, Francis transferred Auxiliary Bishop Riccardo Lamba, 68, to Udine.

On April 6, Cardinal Vicar Angelo De Donatis, 71, was transferred to the irrelevant post of Major Penitentiary.

Also on April 6, Auxiliary Bishop Daniele Libanori SJ, 71, was effectively dismissed by reinventing the non-existent office of "Assessor of the Holy Father for Consecrated Life" without any real duties.

In October 2024, Francis transferred Auxiliary Bishop Dario Gervasi, 56, to the Dicastery for the Laity as an adjunct secretary, where he is doing paperwork.

In December 2024, Auxiliary Bishop Daniele Salera, 54, was transferred to Ivrea in Piedmont in.

The current rulers of the diocese of Rome are the new Cardinal Baldassare Reina, 54, who is also Archpriest of the Roman Episcopal Church in Lateran, and the 'Vicegerente' of the diocese of Rome, Renato Tarantelli Baccari. SilereNonPossum.com comments that the clergy in Rome don't even want to see these two.
