LifeSiteNews.com Dismissed Editor-in-Chief John-Henry Westen

There's been enormous pressure to silence Prevost's critics on the websites that previously denounced Bergoglio. LifeSiteNews always defended the truth, attacking Bergoglio's errors, but now with Prevost, that's changed, and that's why Westen has been fired. Is Prevost the one who will present the Antichrist, and should therefore remain outside the controversies against him? Why does Burke defend and praise him?

John-Henry Westen is no longer the CEO and Editor-in-Chief of LifeSiteNews.com.

LifeSiteNews's dismissal note was kind, as usual: "He is now on a well-earned sabbatical, spending valuable time with his family."

The company expressed "heartfelt gratitude" for Westen's many years of dedicated service to LifeSiteNews and the pro-life cause. "We wish him well during his sabbatical and ask for continued prayers for our organization as we move forward."

Journalist Edward Welsch addded on X.com: “Westen was removed by a 5-4 board vote, as a majority wanted to chart a new course for the site after the election of Leo XIV.”

Board of directors for LifeSiteNews include: Jeff Gunnerson, Royce Hood, Lisa Fischer, Dominic Ismert, Jim Hughes, John-Henry Westen and his friend and co-founder, Steve Jalsevac.

Are They Trying to Silence Criticism of Pope Leo XIV?

John-Henry Westen was critical of Pope Francis’ pontificate. After Francis’ loyalist Cardinal Robert Prevost was elected Pope, Westen suddenly announced a "new course" in favor of the Pope.

However, Westen continued to criticize Leo XIV.

On June 30, he wrote about Leo XIV’s new Eucharist formular: “This will be an important indication of where Pope Leo is coming from. While there can be a legit Mass praying for the care of creation, in our current climate it is suspect.”

On July 1, he added: “Vestments soothe, but nominations alarm“.

On July 8, he was dismissed.
