Portugal starts its own Pilgrimage in the Roman Rite

A new Roman rite pilgrimage will take place in Portugal from Nazaré to Fátima from 10 to 12 October. The main organiser is Lourenço Silveira Viana, a Catholic who works as a commercial risk manager at Siemens Abu Dhabi.

In an interview with InfoCatólica on 26 August, he said that the pilgrimage was created to rediscover Catholicism in Portugal.

Silveira Viana was inspired by similar pilgrimages to Chartres (France), Covadonga (Spain) and Luján (Argentina), and has participated in the Covadonga pilgrimage three times.

He says that these pilgrimages are deeply transformative experiences.

A website will soon be launched and will contain practical information about the pilgrimage, as well as registration instructions.
