## The Journey to Aminadab’s House
When Peter, accompanied by the three apostles and three disciples, arrived around noon at the house of **Aminadab**—the fisherman who had taken over Peter’s fishery two years prior—they took their meal. Peter recounted the miracle of the catch and the appearance of Jesus; he spoke of the meal shared with Him and exhorted his listeners to leave everything behind and follow Jesus.
The old fisherman, hearing these things and seeing the boat full of fish, and listening to the narration of wonders told by his two sons who had been present, also resolved to leave everything and follow the apostles. The fish were distributed among the local poor. The old fisherman left the fishery to another man and, with his two sons, **Isaac and Josaphat**, followed the apostles that same night. I see him walking toward the west of the lake and heading into the interior of the country. The old fisherman’s intentions were not entirely pure: he thought that by leaving his meager possessions, he might later become something more.
The following morning, the apostles arrived at a fairly large synagogue situated between two towns. It stood isolated in the region and was surrounded by buildings for lodging. There they found many disciples gathered, to whom they recounted the miracle of the catch, the supper with Jesus, and the words and deeds of that apparition.
### Peter’s Preaching and Healing
Peter taught in this school about the miraculous catch and the following of Jesus. A great crowd had gathered, including the sick and those possessed by demons. **Only Peter healed in the name of Jesus**; the other apostles assisted the sick or taught the doctrine. All were good people, eager to hear the teachings of Jesus. Peter spoke of the sorrows of Jesus, of His Passion, death, and resurrection. He told them they had seen Him in several apparitions and exhorted them to follow Him.
The listeners were deeply moved. Peter no longer seemed the same as before; since the last apparitions, he appears very different: he is full of enthusiasm, zeal, gentleness, and kindness. He moved the hearts of these men so profoundly that all wanted to leave everything and follow the apostles. He had to tell many of them not to do so and to return to their homes.

## Jesus Appears to Five Hundred Disciples
From this place, which is a few hours south of **Tiberias**, Peter set out with the others and a great multitude toward the West, to a high place that had a very fertile valley to the North. In winter, this valley is covered in green grass, as it is crossed by a stream that usually dries up in the summer heat. Occasionally, the valley floods due to rain and water falling from the neighboring mountains.
They stopped at an isolated mountain surrounded by houses, orchards, and gardens scattered across the hills. At the elevation where they arrived, five paths meet, and at the summit, there is a space large enough for a hundred people to walk comfortably. From there, one enjoys a splendid view of the **Sea of Galilee** and its surroundings. Not far from here is the mountain where Jesus multiplied the loaves; it was in this vicinity that Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. The well of Capernaum is located at the foot of this region.
The other apostles, many disciples, and the holy women were also there, with the exception of the Mother of God and Veronica. Peter’s wife and daughter were also present. The wives of Andrew and Matthew had come from Bethsaida. There were many other people besides. The apostles and disciples knew they were to gather here. Some distributed themselves under shelters and others in the open air. Peter told the other apostles and the women about the wonder of the catch and joined the others on the mountain, where the multitude had been organized by the disciples.
### The Sermon on the Mountain
On the mountain, there was a deeper hollow, and in this hollow stood a column that could be climbed to teach from, like a pulpit. This hollow was surrounded by terrace-like steps in a circle, from which the preacher could be seen and heard. Peter divided the listeners into five groups, corresponding to the five paths leading to the mountain, and assigned an apostle to each group to instruct them, as not everyone could hear him. Peter took his place in the moss-covered chair and the listeners gathered around him. He preached on the **Passion of the Lord and His Resurrection**, on the apparitions of Jesus, and the necessity of following His doctrine.
I have seen Jesus coming from the same side where Peter had climbed the mountain. The holy women at the foot of the mountain fell to their knees at His feet. He spoke a few words to them in passing. As Jesus passed through the crowd, He was radiant, and some trembled and were afraid; these did not remain faithful. Jesus stepped forward to the center, where Peter was at the column, and spoke of leaving everything, of following Him, and of the persecutions they would suffer for His name's sake.
Upon hearing these things, about two hundred of those present left the mountain and departed. Once they had gone, the Lord said He had spoken gently so as not to scandalize the weak. Now, however, He spoke seriously of the hardships and persecutions that those who follow Him on earth would suffer, and of the great reward they would have in heaven. He said these things to the apostles and disciples, just as He had spoken in the last teaching He gave in the Temple.
**He commanded them the following:**
1. To remain in Jerusalem.
2. When the Holy Spirit had been sent to them, to baptize in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
3. To seek to found a community immediately.
4. He then indicated how they should divide themselves to preach and found communities elsewhere, gathering to set out again, and that finally, they would be martyred, bearing witness with their blood.
While Jesus spoke, I saw that the souls of the **Patriarchs** were there, though invisible to the others. Jesus vanished from their sight in their midst like a light going out; many threw themselves at His feet with their faces to the ground. Peter continued preaching, and then they prayed. This was the principal apparition in Galilee, where Jesus taught and showed His Resurrection to all. The other apparitions were all more private and to fewer people.

## The Act of Humility
I later saw Peter, Thaddeus, Andrew, and James the Less in another place, where they healed the sick whom they had been unable to cure before when they were in **Sychar**. Their failing was that they had acted that time not in humility, as those who give what they have received from Jesus, but with a certain ostentation and the intent to imitate the dignity of the Lord; for this reason, they could not achieve what they desired.
Now I see them perform a great act of humility that moved me: they knelt and asked their forgiveness for not being able to help them the last time. All these sick people were healed of their ailments; there were people here who had come from as far as **Kedar**. Those who were healed wished to accompany the apostles to Bethany to celebrate the Sabbath there.
