Good News: Another FSSP Apostolate In Switzerland

The Apostolic Administrator of Lugano, Switzerland, Fribourg Auxiliary Bishop Alain de Raemy, 64, invited the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter in September to set up a Sunday Mass apostolate in Gordola (35km north of Lugano). The priest in charge is Father Benjamin Durham who heads the Fraternity's apostolate in Lausanne.

Since 2016, the Mass in Gordola has been celebrated regularly by various visiting priests, mostly from the area.

De Raemy is a Catholic and a former chaplain of the Vatican's Swiss Guard, who grew up partly in Spain and is therefore speaks fluent Spanish, which gives him easy access to the Argentine mafia in the Vatican. He has an interest in remaining in Lugano, so this move was certainly coordinated with Rome.
