An attack on 15 💉 -cancer specialists?

Eight cancer specialists were on board the ill-fated plane that crashed in Brazil, killing all 68 passengers. Initially 15 physicians were scheduled to be on the flight, but 7 of them switched to an earlier departure that day.

The group was headed to São Paulo to participate in the #SBTMO2024 conference, which focuses on cancer and vaccine research.


SBTMO stands for Brazilian Society of Bone Marrow Transplantation and Cell Therapy. They establish voluntary standards and accreditation programs for cell therapy.

In a simpler sense, they decide what is considered true or false in this oncological field. If a treatment or cure is suggested, they decide if it is accredited, which determines if the treatment or cure can be used.
