Francis' Stadium Eucharist: People Grab Communion like Cookies or Decline "No, thank you"
Pope Francis, as usual, sat on the side during the Eucharist at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels, Belgium, on September 29.
During Communion, lay people, mostly dressed in civilian clothes, distributed the Eucharist like cookies.
They went between the seats in the stadium to see who wanted to grab Communion. Many of those seated didn't know what was going on.
One said "No, thank you" to the Communion minister.
One person signaled with his fingers to take two hosts and took them away in a vessel.
The Vatican media livestream also showed a Girl Scout receiving Communion on the tongue while kneeling. Her fellow scouts grabbed Communion in their hands.
Father Karl A Claver:
These mass Masses are sacrilegious. They treat the Mass like it was a sports or rock concert event. No wonder the faith is almost dead.
