Jelly Roll walked onto that Grammy stage tonight and did what most celebrities are too scared to do: he pulled out a small Bible and thanked God for pulling him out of his darkest days.
In his tearful acceptance speech for Best Contemporary Country Album (Beautifully Broken), he shared how in a 6x8-foot cell, all he had was “a Bible this big and a radio the same size,” believing music and God could change his life.
Then he said it straight: “Jesus is for everybody. Jesus is not owned by one political party. Jesus is not owned by no music label. Jesus is Jesus, and anybody can have a relationship with Him.”
Not just for the perfect or the polished — but for the broken, the addicted, the ones who’ve messed up and still want redemption.
Some in the crowd looked uncomfortable, but he kept going. And ended with: “I love you, Lord.”
If you’re in a dark season right now, hear this: The same Jesus who lifted Jelly Roll from rock bottom can lift you too.
Keep going. Keep praying. Keep believing 🙏
