More traditional Masses than ever since the introduction of the Novus Ordo

According to newly compiled data on LatinMass.com, there are currently 2,100 places where the Roman Rite is celebrated on a regular basis around the world. Before Traditionis Custodes (2021), there were about 1800 Masses around the globe.

The primary providers of Sunday Masses are:
• Diocesan clergy: 777 locations.
• The Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) provides more than 700 locations.
• The Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter: 224 locations.
• Institute of Christ the King: 91 locations.

The largest number of Mass locations are found in Europe and North America. Latin America and Australia follow. Currently, Africa has 19 Mass locations, 15 of which are served by the SSPX.

In Asia, the presence is smaller: The SSPX maintains two Mass locations in both Japan and South Korea. Taiwan has two Sunday Masses under the responsibility of the diocese.

In Eastern Europe, Russia and Belarus each have two diocesan Mass locations. The SSPX is also present in Moscow, alongside diocesan celebrations
