To receive Communion in union the angels

When we are about to receive Jesus in Communion, we should do so with the greatest possible preparation and purity. For this reason, it would be wise to do what Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus used to do:

"I imagine my soul as a plot of open ground and I ask the Blessed Virgin to remove from it the debris that might prevent it from being free. Then, I beg her to set up a vast tent worthy of heaven, decorating it with her own finery. Afterward, I invite all the saints and angels to come and perform a magnificent concert. I believe that when Jesus descends into my heart, He is happy to see Himself so well received, and I am happy too."

It is, therefore, important to invoke Mary and the saints, but we must not forget our own Guardian Angel and the angels of everyone around us. We should ask them to help us in those sublime moments when we unite with Jesus in Communion. Saint Angela of the Cross used to say:

"I strove as much as I could to receive Communion with fervor. I asked the Blessed Virgin to cover me with her mantle for Communion. I renewed my vows. I asked the Holy Patriarch (St. Joseph) to lead me by the hand to receive, and my father St. Francis to lead me by the left; I asked my holy Guardian Angel to come to my side and the other patron saints to accompany me. And with this procession, I went to receive Communion."

St. John Chrysostom said: "Those who partake of this Blood of Christ stand with the angels, the archangels, and the powers of heaven, wrapped in the same royal mantle of Christ."

Therefore, let us receive Communion with the greatest possible devotion, in union with Mary and all the saints and angels.
