Former Paris Chapel Hosts Homosexual Performance

From 16 to 25 April, the former Chapelle Sainte Jeanne d’Arc in Paris hosted performances by a homosexual group.

The neo-Gothic chapel was commissioned in 1909 by Marie de la Passion in honour of Saint Joan of Arc, following her beatification.

It was deconsecrated in 2020, after the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary left the convent complex due to insufficient financial and human resources.

The chapel now forms part of Village Reille, a publicly funded, cultural and social project.

From 16 to 25 April 2026, Cirque Fier.e.s - a group calling itself ‘LGBTQIA+ and intersectional feminist collective’ - held a performance there. During their show, the altar was removed and replaced with circus staging featuring dance, acrobatics, nudity and provocative theatrical imagery, including sadomasochism.

According to reports, transvestite Esther opened one performance by stating: “You know that Chapelle Reille is not its real name — it is actually the Sainte Jeanne d'Arc Chapel, and we are going to set it on fire.”
