Luisa Piccarreta writes (Vol. 6, October 2, 1906):
"Having received Communion, I felt myself outside of myself and I saw a person very oppressed by various crosses, and blessed Jesus said to me:
> 'Tell her that in the moment she feels wounded by persecutions, by attacks, by sufferings, she should think that **I am present** and that what she suffers can serve to soothe and heal my wounds; thus, her sufferings will serve to heal at one time my side, another time my head, and another time my hands and my feet, which are so painful and wounded by the grave offenses that creatures commit against me. This is a great honor that I do for her, by giving her the medicine myself to heal my wounds, and at the same time, the merit of the charity of having healed me.'
While He was saying this, I saw many souls from Purgatory, who, upon hearing this, were filled with amazement and said:
'How fortunate you are, who receive such sublime teachings, who acquire the merit of healing a God—a merit that surpasses all other merits! Your glory will be as distinct from that of others as the heaven is distinct from the earth! Oh, if only we had received such teachings—that our sufferings could serve to heal a God—what a wealth of merits we would have obtained, which we do not have now!'"
