The Feast of St. Joseph is March 19th. He is a greatly under-appreciated spiritual figure. He is rightly called: "Terror of Demons." As St. Alphonsus Liguori said: "Saint Joseph is most powerful against demons which fight against us." I was reminded of this in an exorcism some time ago:
A young woman who was afflicted by demons was being ministered to by our St Michael Center for Spiritual Renewal. She shared with us the following. She said that as she was coming to the next exorcism session--
"I felt inside of me an intense hatred of the demons for St Joseph and at the same time I felt a huge protection of St. Joseph for me. I took it as something providential and I realized we should invoke him during the exorcism. When we arrived I asked if it was possible for us to pray the Litany of St. Joseph during the session, which we subsequently did. During the session, the demons greatly manifested when we said 'St. Joseph Terror of Demons'. It was obvious that the demons were being strongly affected by St Joseph and by our prayers asking for his help. I will never forget the hatred of the demons and their desperation when we said the Litany of St Joseph. During that moment I felt his presence and help. In fact, I was granted a vision of St. Joseph at that time. When we invoked his help, I could see him in the room. It is a moment I will never forget.”
This young woman is now doing fine and living a holy life. St. Joseph, Terror of Demons, protect the Church and each of us.
