The Vatican has published on August 27 the handbook, Integral Ecology in the Life of the Family, urging Catholic families to adopt environmentally focused practices such as composting, collecting rainwater, and monitoring rainfall as part of an “ecological conversion.” Issued jointly by the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development and the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life, the text presents care for creation and sustainable living as integral to Christian family life and holiness.
