No, this doesn't mean that "Japan will be Catholic tomorrow." But it does reveal something much deeper: even in civilizations shaped by centuries of Shintoism and modern secularism, Catholicism reappears where no one expected it.
While the West rejects its Christian heritage and sinks into nihilism, Japan faces a brutal demographic, spiritual, and civilizational crisis. And in the midst of this void, the Catholic faith is beginning to quietly gain a foothold within the country's oldest institution.
