Same as in Germany: A parish in the Baggio district of Milan, Italy, provided space for Islamic prayer during its summer youth program.
The initiative was introduced at the "Summer Oratory" (Oratorio Estivo) of San Giovanni Bosco parish.
According
to parish priest Don Giovanni Salatino, several Muslim youths serve as
camp animators. Providing them with a space for prayer is, in his view, a
gesture of respect and inclusion. He also stated that Christians and
Muslims pray to the same God.
The Archdiocese of Milan supported
the initiative on its website, describing the camp as a place that is
“inclusive and open to dialogue.”
