Same as in Germany: French singer Julie Zenatti is scheduled to perform on June 13 at Saint Bernadette Church in Dijon as part of a tour promoting her album Le Chemin ("The Path").
Zenatti has been singing in churches across France for several months and has spoken positively about the atmosphere of these sacred places.
In a May 2025 radio interview available on Youtube, she was described as "not a believer," a characterization she did not dispute. Her family background is Jewish.
Churches are "a place that is absolutely unfamiliar to me." For her music, it does not matter "whether one believes or not."
When she told a collaborator that she wanted to make an album about "spirituality," he replied: " Julie, I've got it—it's pagan," she recounted.
The abuse of churches for anti-Catholic events is systemic in France. During the Nuit Blanche events in Paris on June 6, there were, among other installations, satanic noises in churches and a masturbating figure.
