A crucifix stands after devastating wildfires in France

 


 

 

 
The devastating wildfires in southwestern France have burned more than 42,000 hectares in the Gironde department and some 3,600 hectares in Landes.

Amid this scene of destruction, a crucifix located near the town of Saumos (Gironde), where the fire started, remained standing and completely intact, surrounded by scorched earth.
