One day, a man rushed up to him in great haste, saying, "Father, Father, hurry please! On Giulia Street, the Lady of Caesarea is at the point of death. She sent me to call you because she has repented of her licentious and sinful life, and she does not want to die like this."
"Very well, let us go then," replied the saint, suspecting nothing of the trick. The woman was not ill; rather, having heard of Philip's purity, she wanted to tempt him. "Leave him to me and you will see," the brazen woman had boasted.
Once Philip arrived, he went to the room where the prostitute was waiting. Inside the room and prepared to give her the last rites, Philip found himself caught in the trap: the woman was almost naked and was looking at him with lustful intentions. Without hesitation, Philip realized the trap, made the Sign of the Cross, turned on his heel, and walked away.
When Father Philip was back at his parish, he said: "Today, God has saved both my soul and my body at the same time."
