My children, I would like to recommend that you cultivate the holy habit of going to confession more regularly. I, Jesus, speak to you.
You must not allow too much time to pass between one confession and another, because even though you may believe you are clean, you are not. Therefore, accustom yourselves to confessing more frequently, so that this immense sacrament may strengthen you against the temptations and snares of the devil, and increase sanctifying grace within you. I, Jesus, speak to you.
You say, "I have no sins," but that is not true. From the moment you wake up until you go to bed, even if you do not have mortal sins, you have countless venial sins, and you should accustom yourselves to confessing them as well, so that you may acquire holy habits leading to the sanctification of your souls. Anyone who confesses regularly notices it in their character and virtues. They realize that they are overcoming the battles presented by My mortal enemy, becoming less attached to this world, and living with hope set on Eternal Life. I, Jesus, speak to you.
If this applies to the laity, how much more so for priests, whose confession should be weekly, since they offer the Holy Sacrifice and must do so in optimal conditions to consecrate. So My children, heed this advice that I give you—one that is important for you to fulfill—because I desire nothing more than for you to reach Eternal Life blameless, so that your Purgatory may be bearable and brief. I, Jesus, speak to you.
There are Catholics who detest the Sacrament of Penance and even believe it to be an invention of priests. But children, how can you think this way about such a sublime sacrament—one that I instituted to give you peace of soul and make you strong against temptation and the trials of life?
All the sacraments are holy and highly beneficial; you must not cast one aside and choose another, for all are necessary. But when you come to receive Me in Holy Communion, do so with a soul cleansed of grudges, doubts, and gossip about others. I do not want you to receive Me stained, though it is true that such things do not usually reach the level of mortal sin, some could become so if the gossip, grudges, or doubts exceed a moderate limit. I, Jesus, speak to you.
To God what is God's
