The association SOS Calvaires has managed to rally thousands of volunteers, mostly young believers, with the mission of restoring the wooden crosses and crucifixes that for centuries have watched over France's rural and urban landscapes.
The impact of this apostolate continues to grow. With more than 90 departmental chapters and a team exceeding four thousand members, the group has reached an admirable working pace, restoring an average of more than one sacred monument per day.
Each restoration represents not only the physical repair of a historical wooden or stone heritage site, but also a public act of faith, prayer, and testimony to the love of the Holy Cross in daily life.
