How Jesus Died Little by Little

(1) Finding myself in my usual state, I was lamenting to my sweet Jesus about His privations, saying to Him: “My Love, who could have thought that Your privation would cost me so much? I feel myself dying little by little; every act of mine is a death that I feel, because I do not find life; but to die and live is even more cruel—rather, it is a double death.” And my lovable Jesus came quickly and said to me:

(2) “My daughter, courage and firmness in everything. Or what, do you not want to imitate Me? I too died little by little; as creatures offended Me in their steps, I felt the tearing in My feet, but with such severity of spasms as to be capable of bringing Me death, and while I felt Myself dying, I did not die; as they offended Me with their works, I felt death in My hands, and from the cruel tearing I agonized, I felt Myself faint, but the Will of the Father sustained Me: I died and did not die; as the evil words, the horrendous blasphemies of creatures reverberated in My voice, I felt Myself suffocate, choke, My speech embittered, and I felt death in My voice, but I did not die. And My torn Heart, as It beat, felt in My heartbeat evil lives, souls tearing themselves away, and My Heart was in continuous tearings and lacerations; I agonized and died continuously in every creature, in every offense; nevertheless, love, the Divine Will, compelled Me to live. Here is the reason for your dying little by little: I want you together with Me, I want your company in My deaths—are you not content?”
