Alois of Liechtenstein blocks approval of abortion

On October 20, Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein confirmed that he would not approve legislation allowing abortion.

The bill had passed Parliament on September 2 by 13 votes to 12. Without the Prince's approval, it cannot enter into force. He stated that the proposal did not adequately protect unborn life.

He expressed support for improving information, counselling and assistance for mothers.
