October, Month of the Rosary

Every October 1st, the Catholic Church opens the doors to the month of the Holy Rosary, one of the most profound, beloved, and widespread devotions throughout the history of our faith, handed down by the Most Holy Virgin Mary to Saint Dominic de Guzmán.

Through meditation on the Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, and Luminous mysteries, we as faithful are invited to contemplate the face of Jesus through the eyes of Mary.

From Saint Pius V to Saint John Paul II, who called it his favorite prayer, this devotion has served as a beacon and comfort for entire generations during times of trial.

In the great Marian apparitions such as Lourdes and Fatima, the Mother of God tirelessly emphasized the importance of this prayer.

Likewise, it was Pope Leo XIII who, through eleven encyclicals dedicated to this devotion, officially declared October as the month of the Rosary.
