Testimonies collected from women who spent years being ignored, dismissed, and, in several cases, punished for the abuse they suffered at the hands of child sexual exploitation gangs have shaken the British Parliament. MP Rupert Lowe has brought some of the most shocking accounts from victims of these criminal organizations of Pakistanis—who were responsible for systematic rapes, torture, threats, and abuse against minors over years in various UK towns—to Westminster.

During an address, Lowe read statements obtained through his independent inquiry into the sexual exploitation networks. Among them was the testimony of a girl who stated she was raped by between 600 and 700 different men over three years, starting when she was just 13. Another survivor recounted how one of her abusers violently inserted a glass bottle that shattered inside her body when she was 12 years old.

The accounts also described minors being locked in dog cages inside vans, teenage girls subjected to gang assaults, and victims reporting the involvement of police officers in the abuse. One young woman explained that after suffering a sexual assault at age 15, she went to a hospital with severe injuries and bleeding, but was discharged without healthcare professionals investigating what had happened. Another statement described how an abuser went so far as to extinguish a cigarette on a baby's face.

These testimonies once again shine a spotlight on the child sexual exploitation scandals uncovered in towns like Rotherham, Rochdale, Huddersfield, and Telford, where various investigations have documented the operations of organized groups targeting vulnerable girls to subject them to abuse over many years. The typical pattern involved gaining their trust through gifts, alcohol, or fake romantic relationships before turning to intimidation, drugs, and violence to keep them subjugated.

One of the most severe aspects of these scandals has been the conduct of the institutions charged with protecting these minors. Official inquiries have identified police failures, negligence by social services, and a reluctance to address certain ethnic factors for fear of stirring racial tensions. In some cases, the victims themselves ended up being treated as criminals while their abusers continued to operate. Lowe has demanded full accountability and called on public bodies to record and publish information regarding those responsible for these crimes.

The MP insisted that the testimonies gathered during the hearings of his independent inquiry must serve to push for concrete action and prevent other minors from suffering similar ordeals. "I sincerely urge this Parliament to listen to the testimonies of these brave survivors and to act, once and for all," he declared before lawmakers. His address comes as the United Kingdom carries out a national public inquiry into these networks and the responsibility of the institutions that failed for years to protect their victims.
