Saint Pio of Pietrelcina left us a teaching for those who desire to grow in holiness: Christian perfection is also built in the small actions of each day.
In one of his spiritual counsels, addressed to a spiritual daughter, the Capuchin saint wrote:
“My daughter, to strive for perfection it is necessary to pay the greatest attention to acting in everything to please God and to seek to avoid the smallest faults; to fulfill one's duty and everything else with greater generosity.”
These words remind us that holiness does not consist solely in performing great works, but also in fulfilling our responsibilities with love, taking care of our actions, and seeking to please God even in that which seems insignificant.
Every duty fulfilled with generosity, every sacrifice offered, and every small act of love can become an opportunity to draw closer to the Lord.
May our purpose today be to do ordinary things with extraordinary love.
Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, pray for us.
