November: Remember that you will die

The Last Things or Four Last Things of man are four: Death, Judgment, Hell, and Glory.

The Last Things are called the Last Things of man, because death is the final thing that happens to man in this world; the Judgment of God is the last of the judgments we shall undergo; Hell is the extreme evil that the wicked shall have, and Glory is the supreme good that the good shall possess.

It is fitting to think about our Last Things every day, and above all in morning prayer upon waking up, at night before going to bed, and whenever we feel tempted, because this thought is most effective in making us flee from sin (Greater Catechism of St. Pius X, Ed. Magisterio Español, Vitoria, 1973, p. 128).
