There is an ancient spiritual tradition regarding the mission of Saint Michael the Archangel that invites Catholics to begin preparing now for their definitive encounter with God.
Father Chad Ripperger, known for his work as an exorcist, addressed this topic during an interview on *The Shawn Ryan Show*.
He spoke of Saint Michael as the protector of the elect, recalling a teaching attributed to the saints: that he intervenes in a special way to accompany souls destined for Heaven at the moment of death.
He also emphasized that salvation requires our cooperation with God’s grace. It is not enough to wait until the last moment; we are called to live each day in faithfulness to Christ.
Catholic tradition recognizes Saint Michael as the protector of the Church and the defender of God’s people against the evil one.
For this reason, we can ask for his intercession now, so that he may assist us at the hour of our death and accompany us on our journey toward eternity.
Today, you may offer this simple prayer:
“Saint Michael the Archangel, accompany me at the hour of my death. Intercede for me before God, protect me from all evil, and help me to reach the presence of the Lord through divine mercy. Amen.”
Let us not wait until old age to prepare for eternity. Let us live close to God today.
Saint Michael the Archangel, pray for us.
