Melania Trump is a “practicing Catholic”, her spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham confirmed to DailyMail.com. On Wednesday she was part of U.S. President Trump's visit to the Vatican. During the visit Melania asked Pope Francis to bless a rosary for her and later prayed in the chapel of the Bambino Gesù Hospital, where she placed flowers at the feet of a statue of Our Lady.
Melania Trump was raised in a Communist family in Catholic Slovenia. She was not baptised as a child. It is unclear when she became a Catholic. Donald Trump is a Presbyterian.
