Three individuals shared portions of their consecrated Hosts with their dogs during a Eucharist on October 4, 2025, at Good Shepherd Parish in Zürich, Switzerland.
The sacrilege occurred during an animal blessing that had been combined with a Eucharist.
The Diocese of Chur investigated the incided and concluded on April 17 that the individuals did not act with sacrilegious intent.
Despite imposing no canonical penalties, the diocese described the incident as “highly regrettable.”
