Another miracle of the Rosary

In 2020, Father Valentine Ezeagu was on his way to his father’s funeral in Imo State, Nigeria, when four armed men suddenly ambushed his vehicle and kidnapped him. For 36 long, terrifying hours, he was held captive, not knowing if he would ever see his family again.

Instead of panicking, Father Valentine began praying the Rosary aloud, clutching his beads and invoking Our Lady’s intercession while still dressed in his cassock.
What happened next astonished everyone.

The kidnappers grew increasingly uneasy and confused as they watched and listened to him pray. Something shifted in their hearts. They developed a guilty conscience, told him they had “the wrong person,” gave him food, and then released him completely unharmed.

His superior later shared that the Rosary visibly touched the captors, transforming a life-threatening situation into one of unexpected mercy and freedom.

In a country where priests and religious are often targeted, this powerful testimony stands out. It reminds us that even in the darkest moments, when evil seems to surround us, persistent, faithful prayer to Our Lady can pierce through fear and touch even the hardest hearts.

The Rosary is not just a devotion. It is a weapon. A source of peace. A chain that binds us to Heaven and can loosen the chains of this world.
