Consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Part of the message of Fatima was the Virgin's desire that the world be consecrated to her Immaculate Heart. Where could the world be safer? Where will we be better defended and protected? This Consecration "means drawing near, through the Mother's intercession, to the very source of Life that flowed from Golgotha. This spring flows uninterruptedly, with Redemption and grace gushing forth from it. In it, reparation for the sins of the world is continually carried out. This spring is an unceasing fountain of new life and holiness"¹³.

Pius XII (whose episcopal ordination had taken place precisely on May 13, 1917, the day of the first apparition) consecrated the human race and, especially, the peoples of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary¹⁴.

John Paul II desired to renew it, and we can join ourselves to it:

"O Mother of individuals and peoples, you who know all their sufferings and hopes, you who feel maternally all the struggles between good and evil, between light and darkness, which invade the contemporary world, accept the cry which we, moved by the Holy Spirit, raise directly to your heart, and embrace with the love of the Mother and the Handmaid this world of ours, which we place under your trust and entrust to you, filled with anxiety for the earthly and eternal destiny of individuals and peoples.

In a special way we place under your trust and entrust to you those individuals and nations which particularly need this entrustment and consecration. 'We fly to thy patronage, O Holy Mother of God!' 'Despise not our petitions in our necessities!'

Despise not!

Accept our humble trust and self-offering!"¹⁵.

Holy Mary, always attentive to what we ask of her, will allow us to find refuge and protection in her Most Pure Heart.
