ACI prensa. 2008- CNN Founder Proposes "Depopulation" to Counteract Climate Change
The billionaire founder of the CNN news network, Ted Turner, stated in a television interview that the alleged reason for the world's climate problems is that "we have too many people," suggesting that the population must be "stabilized" by promoting campaigns such as the one-child policy implemented by the Chinese government.
According to the pro-life site LifeSiteNews.com, Turner made these remarks on the Charlie Rose show on PBS on April 1st. In the opinion of the tycoon—one of the most radical "green" activists—following nuclear disarmament, the most important issue is "global climate change. We have too many people. That’s why we have global warming."
Key Points of the Interview
Population Control: Turner, an admirer of the Chinese government's policy requiring families to have only one child, stated: "We have to stabilize the population. Voluntarily, everyone in the world has to pledge to the idea of having only one or two children."
Apocalyptic Predictions: In the view of the imaginative Turner, "We’ll be eight degrees hotter, ten degrees hotter... and not in ten years, but in 30 or 40 years, the crops won't grow. Most of the people will have died and the rest of us will be cannibals. Civilization will have broken down. The few people left will be living in a failed state like Somalia or Sudan, and living conditions will be intolerable."
A "Suicidal" Path: "We’ve got to stop doing the two suicidal things, we've got to stop the nuclear weapons, and after that, we've got to stabilize the population," he added.
