Tucho Rebuked Germany - but Let the Process Continue

A newly emerged letter from pro-homosexual Cardinal Tucho Fernández, soft-porn author and Prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, has revealed that he warned the German bishops in 2024 against proceeding with their proposed homosexual blessings.

Dated 18 November 2024, the letter was addressed to Bishop Stephan Ackermann of Trier, who is responsible for liturgy. It was published today on X.com by Mexican priest Jorge Enrique Mújica, head of Zenit.org.

In the letter, Tucho states that the German bishops’ proposed guidelines for blessings “effectively legitimise the status of such couples” and therefore contradict his homosexual pamphlet Fiducia Supplicans.

He also criticises the German text for creating what amounts to “a kind of liturgy or para-liturgy” for homosexual blessings.

Specifically, Tucho rejected:
• the treatment of homosexual unions as a status to be publicly recognised,
• the inclusion of ritual elements resembling marriage ceremonies,
• prescribed forms, music, and ceremonial structure for such blessings,
• and any “ritual fixation” by ecclesial authorities for blessings of couples in irregular unions.

Meanwhile, the German bishops went ahead with homosexual blessings. In April, Cardinal Reinhard Marx of Munich even forced priests to perform, or at least facilitate, such sacrileges.

Furthermore, the German-speaking Conference on the Liturgy is preparing a new edition of the Benedictionale, envisaged for publication in 2029. This liturgical book is intended to include blessings for same-sex couples.

Despite his empty words, Tucho has not sanctioned anyone for advancing homosexual blessings.
