Julie Anne San Jose, a singer, said she was "sincerely sorry" for
performing anti-Catholic songs by Abba and Lady Gaga at the Nuestra
Señora Del Pilar Church in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro on October 6.
Only
after a public outcry, she wrote on social media: "I apologise.
Although my only intention was to share joy and support the Church
through the benefit concert, many were offended by the incident and my
performance that caused pain. I sincerely apologise".
Both, the
Apostolic Vicariate of San Jose in Mindoro and the parish priest,
Reverend Carlito Dimaano, issued a statement of apology on social media,
with the latter taking "full responsibility for all that happened".
What the alleged atonement consists of is not known.
