He hid the Eucharist inside a book…When he opened it again, the pages were soaked in Blood🇻🇦🩸

In 1330, in the region near Siena, a priest was called to bring Holy Communion to a gravely ill peasant.

Due to carelessness (or perhaps a lack of faith at the time), instead of carrying the Blessed Sacrament reverently in a pyx (a metal container), he placed the consecrated Host between the pages of his prayer book/breviary.

When he arrived and opened the book to give Viaticum, he was shocked: the Host had transformed into a clot of living blood, and the pages were stained with Precious Blood!

Deeply moved and repentant, the priest sought counsel from the holy Augustinian priest Blessed Simone Fidati of Cascia, who forgave him and preserved the blood-stained pages as a relic.

This Eucharistic Miracle, officially recognized by the Church, stands as a striking testimony to the truth that Jesus is truly present, Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity in the Holy Eucharist. Even when we falter in reverence, He shows us His love and reality in extraordinary ways.

Today, these miraculous pages are venerated in the Basilica of St. Rita in Cascia, inviting pilgrims to deepen their faith and adoration.

Let this miracle renew our awe and gratitude every time we approach the Blessed Sacrament:

'This is My Body... This is My Blood...' (Matthew 26:26-28)

Have you ever visited Cascia or learned about Eucharistic miracles?
